LENOX, Mass. -- Jett Steinman scored 17 points Tuesday to lead the Lenox boys basketball team to a 61-54 win over Lee as the Millionaires punched their ticket for the Western Massachusetts tournament.
Steinman hit a pair of 3-pointers, and Michael Ward, Andre Collins and Averin Paradise scored five apiece in the decisive fourth quarter, when Lenox outscored the Wildcats, 24-12.
Collins finished with 15 points, and Paradise scored eight in the win.
Evan Heath led all scorers with 20 points for Lee, which got 13 from Declan Drozd.
“I was proud of the effort and intensity we brought tonight,” Lee coach Eric Cardinal said. “Tonight was a loss we could still keep our heads held high on as we battled a tough Lenox team whose well coached. My team did their part. I’ve got to do a better job coaching
“All you can ask for as a coach is effort and the will to win. Tonight I saw both.”
The Wildcats (5-10) host Monument Mountain on Friday.
Lenox (10-6) will look to improve its tournament seed on Friday when it goes to Hampden Charter.
