CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Izaha Stubbs scored 21 to lead three Hurricanes in double figures as the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team Friday earned a 67-50 win over Renaissance.
The Hurricanes jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they improved to 2-1 this season.
“II thought the first half was how we want Hoosac basketball to play -- unselfish and organized,” Hoosac Valley coach David Harte said. “Stubbs was a beast going to the whole and distributing and John Krol had a double double. Casey Meczywor and Joe Delmolino really handled their intense pressure pretty well although as a team we got a little out of control in the second half.
“Sam Larabee was solid as usual and the crowd was a big lift. Our goal as a program is to pack that place every night with red.”
Krol and Delmolino each scored 10 points in the victory.
