CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Nick Waterman scored 19 points Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 72-63 win over Frontier in the Hurricanes’ season opener.
Izaha Stubbs contributed 18 for Hoosac Valley, which took control with a 25-8 third quarter that erased a 30-25 half-time deficit.
Waterman scored nine, and Stubbs had five in that decisive third quarter.
David Critelli scored nine, and three Hurricanes finished with six points apiece: Matt Hall, Vance Eugene and Justin Meczywor.
Hoosac Valley hosts Monument Mountain on Monday.
