WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sean McCormack scored nine of his game-high 21 points Monday in a decisive fourth quarter as the Mount Greylock boys basketball team defeated St. Joseph, 65-44, and clinched a Western Mass Division 3 tournament bid with its 10th win of the season.
The Mounties (10-4) and Crusaders were tied at half-time, and Mount Greylock built a 44-37 edge going into the fourth. It then outscored its guests, 21-7, in the last eight minutes to cruise to its eighth straight win.
Patrick Storie scored 20 points, and Brady Foehl added eight in the win.
Miles Whitney-Nason and Elton Wilkins each scored 11 for St. Joseph.
The Crusaders (5-11) host Mount Everett on Friday night.
Mount Greylock travels to Lee on Thursday.
