CHESHIRE, Mass. — Jameson Coughlan scored 29 points Tuesday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 60-37 win over Hampshire Regional in the opening round of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
Coughlan scored 13 in the first quarter as the fifth-seeded Hurricanes (12-9) jumped out to a 17-4 lead.
Dahndray Sistrunk hit a couple of 3-pointers in the second quarter on the way to an 11-point night, helping Hoosac carry a 14-point lead into halftime.
Tyler Lancia added eight points for the ‘Canes.
Jacob Bihler led Hampshire (11-12) with eight points.
Hoosac Valley on Friday travels to take on No. 4 Pioneer Valley (16-4) in the quarter-finals.
