CHESHIRE, Mass. — Jameson Coughlan scored 20 points Friday night to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to an 82-47 win over Pittsfield that clinched a Western Mass tournament bid for the Hurricanes.
Four players finished in double figures for Hoosac Valley (10-5), which has a six-game winning streak and has posted its two best offensive games of the season the last outings: 73 points against Lee on Tuesday and 82 on Friday night.
Avery Hall and Matt Koperniak scored 12 points apiece, and Keagan McGrath added 11 for Hoosac.
Three Generals tied for team high honors with eight points apiece: Louis Higher, Connor McDonough and Joshua Moore.
Hoosac took an early lead and really pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Pittsfield, 26-15 to take a 46-26 lead into the locker room.
The ‘Canes travel to Taconic on Tuesday.
Pittsfield (9-6) will look to earn its 10th win on Tuesday night at Lee.
