Santos' Homer Highlights Generals' Win at 'Chaug

WILBRAHAM, Mass. – Sophia Santos homered, and the Pittsfield softball team took a 5-0 lead after three innings en route to a 6-1 win over Minnechaug on Thursday.

 

Amanda Pou went the distance in the circle, striking out three and scattering six hits.

 

“Our defense kept us in the game with great outfield catches by [Sophia] Santos and [Julia] Johansen,” Pittsfield coach Jim Clary said. “And our infield was nearly flawless, too.”

 

Jordynn Bazinet, Mia Alfonso and Mia Arpante each singled and drove in a run in a six-hit Pittsfield attack.

 

The Generals (8-4) host Vermont’s Mount Anthony Union on Friday afternoon.
