Arpante, Alfonso Propel Pittsfield Past Hoosac Valley

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Mia Arpante threw a complete game in the circle, and Mia Alfonso homered to lead the Pittsfield softball team to a 5-2 win over Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.

 

Arpante struck out seven and allowed just one earned run to earn the win.

 

Alfonso hit a solo shot in the fifth inning to give the Generals a 3-1 lead.

 

Jordynn Bazinet went 2-for-2 with a double, and Sophie Santos was 2-for-4 with a double.

 

Hoosac Valley got 10 strikeouts from Madi Puppolo. Puppolo and Paige Meyette each singled for the Hurricanes, who go to Mount Greylock on Wednesday.

 

Pittsfield (6-3) hosts Wahconah on Thursday.
