PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Pittsfield senior Natasha Shade earned a slap single for her 100th career hit and went 5-for-5 on the day to lead the Generals to a 21-0, five-inning win over Chicopee on Saturday in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 1 tournament.

Tess Lyon and Sophia Groves combined on a one-hitter for the second-seeded Generals (19-2) who advanced to Monday’s semi-final against No. 3 Agawam (17-4) on Sortino Field at UMass-Amherst.

Brianna Clary doubled twice, and Sarah McMahon went 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Pittsfield, which got a 3-for-3 day at the plate from Jordyn Lummus.

Lyon struck out four in three innings of work in the circle. Groves had a pair of Ks, and neither Pittsfield pitcher issued a walk.

Pittsfield earned two wins over Agawam this spring in two of the Generals’ closer contests: a 4-1 decision on the road and a 6-3 win at home on May 6.
