Defending State Champs Edge Pittsfield Softball Team

TAUNTON, Mass. -- The Taunton softball team Friday scored twice in the bottom of the first and made it hold up for a 2-1 win over Pittsfield.

 

The 2018 Division 1 champions held Pittsfield to five hits.

 

Natasha Shade had two of them and drove in Brooke Cowlin in the third inning.

 

Madison Tobin, Tess Lyon and Jordyn Lummus each had a hit.

 

In the circle, Lyon scattered eight hits.

 

Pittsfield (2-2) goes to Hoosac Valley on Monday.
