Pittsfield Softball Drops Pair to Silver Lake

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield softball team lost two very different games on Wednesday to Silver Lake of Kingston.

 

The Lakers edged the Generals, 4-3, in one game and beat them 12-8 in a barn-burner that saw the teams combine for 29 hits.

 

Hayley Tobin had four of those hits, going 4-for-4 with a couple of runs scored. Erin Murphy was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.

 

Giulianna Pierce pitched both ends of the double header. Four of her runs were unearned in th 12-8 loss. In the 4-3 decision, she gave up just two earned runs and drove in a pair at the plate.

 

Pittsfield (2-2) hosts Hoosac Valley on Friday.
