Pittsfield Softball Defeats East Longmeadow

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield softball team defeated East Longmeadow Friday afternoon, 13-1.

 

East Longmeadow got on the board first in the top of the first inning with a run from Decker, but the Generals came out in the bottom of the inning and scored five of their own to take the lead which they held throughout five innings.

 

Julia Murphy pitched five innings for Pittsfield, throwing seven strikeouts; she was also scored two runs.

 

Libby White and Erin Murphy each went 2-for-3 for the Generals.

 

Pittsfield advanced its record to 5-0 and  will host Mount Anthony of Bennington, Vt., Saturday at 11 a.m.
