Pittsfield Softball Bows Out in Round of 16

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Lauren Bernaiche struck out six and scattered six hits on Wednesday to lead the Apponequet High softball team to a 6-1 win over Pittsfield in the Division 3 State Tournament Round of 16.

 

The visitors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and kept Pittsfield off the board until the fourth, when Bella MacDonald hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Paxton Ebling and make it 4-1.

 

Amanda Pou took the loss in the circle for Pittsfield, striking out eight, walking none and allowing just four earned runs.

 

Pittsfield finishes the season with a record of (14-8).
