Simms, Spartans Stop Smith Voc

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Olivia Simms went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs Wednesday to lead the Monument Mountain softball team to a 19-7 win over Smith Vocational.

 

Ember Raifstanger also doubled in a 2-for-5 day at the plate. Bella Viola went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

 

The Spartans fell behind, 3-0, in the top of the first but came right back with eight runs in the bottom of the frame and never looked back.

 

Meg Dupont earned the win in the circle, striking out five and allowing just one earned run.

 

Monument Mountain (11-4) goes to Lee on Friday.
