Newberry, Mounties Outslug Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Emma Newberry went 4-for-5 with three runs batted in, and Brodi Rosier homered as the Mount Greylock softball team defeated Taconic, 16-12, on Monday.

 

Malia Koffi tripled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs, and Kelsey Machaffie doubled in a 15-hit attack for Mount Greylock.

 

Kami Sweet earned the win in the circle, going the distance and allowing just five earned runs.

 

Taconic got a home run from Leena Schettini, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and four RBIs. Laynie Burke went 2-for-3 at the plate.

 

Rylee Paronto and Chey Goddard split time in the circle for the Thunder.

 

Taconic (2-4) hosts Greenfield on Tuesday.

 

Mount Greylock (3-2) hosts Wahconah on Tuesday.
