Puppolo, Shade Named Co-MVPs of Berkshire County
Hoosac Valley pitcher Madi Puppolo and Pittsfield infielder Natasha Shade were selected co-MVPs of the Berkshire County League by the league’s coaches.
Each MVP led her respective team to a divisional title and the sectional semi-finals at UMass-Amherst last week.
Shade batted over .500 for the Generals, who advanced to the sectional final after winning the Berkshire County North Division crown.
Puppolo pitched the Hurricanes to a Berkshire South title and a berth in the Western Mass semis with an earned run average of 1.77.
The Berkshire County League coaches named three all-league teams, an all-County squad, an all-North squad and an all-South squad. Pittsfield and Hoosac Valley were well represented on all three.
The all-Berkshire County team honorees are: Pittsfield’s Madison Tobin, Brianna Clary, Tess Lyon, Jordyn Lummus and Mia Potash; Hoosac Valley’s Syrah Bradley and Katie Braman; Wahconah’s Abby Wells; Mount Everett’s Gwendolyn Carpenter; Taconic’s Taylar Ostrander; and Drury’s Anna Dix.
The all-North team: Mount Greylock’s Lily Lesieur and Emma Newbury; Wahconah’s Hailey Lenski and Morgan Marauszwski; Taconic’s Jenyka Ostellino, Addison Lyon and Taea Bramer; Pittsfield’s Sarah McMahon, Lexi Sondrini and Szofia Lewis; Drury’s Kaitlyn Tatro and Mackenzie Dobbert.
The all-South team: Mount Everett’s Faith Angell, Marion Devoti and Madison Ullrich; Hoosac Valley’s Rylie Bishop, Lauren Faucher, Logan Stansfield, Rylen Witek and Kelsey Wohrle; Lenox’s Hailey Ano; Monument Mountain’s Aubrey Blanchard and Greta Luf; and Lee’s Kylie Joyce.
