Mount Everett Edges Mount Greylock for Second Straight Win

SHEFFEIELD, Mass. -- Madison Ullrich homered, and Faith Angell struck out a pair of batters with the tying run on third in the top of the seventh as the Mount Everett softball team edged Mount Greylock, 11-10, on Sunday.
 
Ullrich went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs.
 
Gwendolyn Carpenter was 2-for-2 with a double and scored four times, and Marion Devoti went 2-for-3 at the plate.
 
Angell struck out eight and walked six to pick up the win in the circle.
 
"Two quality wins at the end of the season," Mount Everett coach Josh King said of the Eagles' victories over Hoosac Valley and Mount Greylock.
 
"We're looking to tidy up some things as a team this week prior to the start of the tournament."
 
Lily Lesiuer went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs for Mount Greylock, which got 2-for-4 days at the plate from Brodi Rosier and Marley Buffis.
 
Rosier homered and doubled, and Buffis doubled twice.
 
Both the Mounties (11-9) and Eagles (13-7) learn Tuesday when and against whom they will open play in the Western Massachusetts tournament.
