Franklin Tech Holds Off Wahconah

Peterson also homered in an eight-hit attack for the Eagles.
Wahconah trailed, 5-1, going to the bottom of the sixth but got singles from Edrie Collins and Harper Keay to pull within one.
Franklin Tech pitcher Hannah Gilbert got a strikeout to leave a runner on base and end the inning, and Kylee Gamache drove in a run to give the Eagles some insurance in the top of the sixth.
Wahconah had runners at the corners in the seventh when Gilbert recorded the final out.
“Franklin Tech is a good team,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “We battled but couldn’t get the timely hit in the seventh. It’s the start of a long week but a good measuring stick for us early in the season.”
Keay went the distance in the circle for Wahconah, striking out four and allowing three earned runs.
Wahconah (3-1) is at Frontier on Tuesday.
