Hoosac Valely Wins Opener at Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Rachael Wnuk went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 12-5 win over Chicopee in the Hurricanes' season opener.

 

Hoosac Valley pounded out 14 hits, including five extra-base hits.

 

Trinity Brackett was 2-for-4 with a triple. Izabella Tart and Hannah Lord each doubled.

 

Tart and Genevieve Lagess each had three hits in the win.

 

Gracelyn Wright earned the victory in the circle, striking out 13 and walking five.

 

Hoosac Valley (1-0) hosts Chicopee Comprehensive on Tuesday.
