Schettini Powers Taconic to Road Win

NORTHFIELD, Mass. – Leena Schettini hit a two-run home run and a double Wednesday to lead the Taconic softball team to a 19-2 win over PIoneer Valley.

 

Schettini finished the day 2-for-2 at the plate with four walks and three RBIs in a 15-hit Taconic attack.

 

Rylee Paronto went the distance in the circle, striking out nine and walking just one. Paronto allowed just two runs in the first inning before facing two hitters over the minimum the rest of the way.

 

Maddie Harrington and Audrina Maloney had three hits apiece in the win.

 

Taconic (2-0) faces crosstown rival Pittsfield on Saturday afternoon.
