Agawam Softball Walks Off Against Taconic in Ninth

AGAWAM, Mass. -- Lauren Champigny drove in a run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Agawam softball team a 14-13 win over Taconic on Monday.

 

The hosts scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 13-11 lead before Amelia Leasure doubled in a pair of runs in the top of the sixth to tie it.

 

That is where it stayed through three innings before Agawam rallied for the game-winner.

 

Leasure finished with a pair of doubles. Rylee Paronto went 2-for-3 with a triple and a pair of RBIs, Anna Bongini hit a grand slam, Bella Macdonald doubled in a pair of runs and Julia Pierce had a pair of hits.

 

Taconic (1-2) is scheduled to host Frontier on Tuesday afternoon.
