Greenfield Softball Tops Taconic

GREENFIELD, Mass. – MacKenzie Paulin struck out 12 Wednesday to lead the Greenfield softball team to a 5-1 win over Taconic.
 
Paulin, who recently struck out 21 in a complete game win for the Green Wave, gave up a run to the Thunder in the top of the fourth.
 
Toni Ahoussie reached on an error and went to second on a Maddie Harrington’s single. Madi Barber grounded into a fielder’s choice that retired Ahoussie for the inning’s second out and left Harrington on second.
 
Nina Maloney then singled to right field to drive in Harrington and make it 3-1 at the time.
 
Harrington and Maloney each had a pair of hits in the loss.
 
Harrington and Chey Goddard combined to strike out three and allow two earned runs in the circle for Taconic.
 
The Thunder (1-1) is at Wahconah on Friday.
