Mount Everett Softball Bounces Back Against Chicopee
CHICOPEE, Mass. – One day after getting shut out at home, the Mount Everett softball team got its bats going early on the road in a 9-6 win over Chicopee.
The Eagles scored two runs in the first and two in the second and eventually built a 9-4 lead in the fifth.
“Good bounce game today for us after yesterday's pitchers duel,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Julia [Devoti] had a great day all around going 4-for-4 and pitching well enough to limit Chicopee and get the win. The girls played well in the field with Emily Steuernagle making some great plays at short.”
Devoti had a triple, a double and three RBIs at the plate. She struck out 10, walked two and allowed four earned runs in a complete-game effort in the circle.
Toniylnn Smith went 2-for-4 in a 10-hit attack for Mount Everett.
The Eagles (3-5) go to Lee on Saturday.
