Tatro, Champney Homer in Hornets' Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Hannah Tatro struck out seven in the circle and homered at the plate, and Aiden Champney hit a grand slam Thursday to highlight the McCann Tech softball team’s 17-10 win at Springfield Central.

 

Paige Meyette went 2-for-2 with a triple, and Khloe Vanuni went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in.

 

The Hornets took control of the game in the second inning, when they scored 10 to take an 11-0 lead. Central made it close late with four in the fifth and four in the seventh before Tatro slammed the door.

 

McCann Tech (2-2) goes to Hopkins Academy on Saturday.
