Vanuni Leads McCann Tech Past Sabis

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Kalley Vanuni homered and doubled in a run in the winning rally Tuesday to lead the McCann Tech softball team to a 5-3 win over Sabis.

 

Meg Goyette struck out six while scattering four hits to earn the win in the circle.

 

The Hornets had a 3-0 lead before Sabis battled back to tie it.

 

In the top of the seventh, Mya Daigneault earned a two-out walk and Sara Fortini reached on an error to bring up the top of the lineup.

 

After Hannah Stack singled, Vanuni drove in Daigneault to make it 4-3.

 

Daigneault also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Hannah Stak went 2-for-4, and Aubrey Tetlow had a hit for the Hornets, who improved to 3-0.

 

McCann Tech goes to Smith Academy on Friday.
