Goyette Pitches Unbeaten McCann Tech Softball to 1-0 Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Kiera Kupiec walked with two out, stole second and came all the way around on a dropped third strike to give the McCann Tech softball team a 1-0 win over Sabis on Tuesday.

 

Meg Goyette won the pitcher’s duel by going the distance and striking out seven Bulldogs while allowing just two hits.

 

Kaylee Tatro had a pair of hits for the Hornets.

 

In the fifth, after Kupiec reached and stole second, Kalley Vanuni struck out but got to first when the catcher dropped the ball. Kupiec went to third and dashed home when no one covered the plate.

 

The Hornets (5-0) look to stay perfect when they host Smith Academy on Monday.
