SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Haley Malloy struck out seven in a complete-game performance and went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead the McCann Tech softball team to a 15-13 win over Central on Monday afternoon.

Malloy got some big help on defense as McCann came back from an early 5-3 deficit.

"Kayla Martin played the best third base I've seen all season," McCann coach Kate Galli said. "She had an inning-ending grab that would have easily scored two in the fourth. She's starting to feel comfortable in the hot seat."

Jamie Meehan scored twice and had a couple of RBIs. Alanza Quinones drive in two, and Kate Gigliottie went 1-for-3 with an RBI in her varsity debut.

"We played against a very good team today, very speedy and aggressive," Galli said. "We held our own and made the plays when it mattered most. I've been saying it all season, but I am very proud of these girls and how they are developing as a team."

McCann (4-3) hosts Holyoke Catholic on Wednesday.
