Drury Softball Edges Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Mackenzie Dobbert went 2-for-3, and the Drury softball team used a five-run fifth inning to earn a 7-6 win over Taconic on Friday afternoon.
 
Jacqueline Moulton went 2-for-4 in a 12-hit Drury attack, and the Blue Devils cashed in on three errors.
 
Abby Lear gave up just three hits in 2-⅔ innings of work in the circle, and Katie Booth came on in the third, struck out three the rest of the way and earned the win.
 
The pair combined to strand 14 baserunners in the seven-inning game.
 
Drury bounced back after falling behind 3-1 in the first and 4-1 after three innings.
 
Taea Bramer went 2-for-5 with a double, and Elly Christopher and Layne Burke each had a pair of hits for Taconic.
 
Mary Lee and Kiki Carrigan combined to strike out five in the circle for Taconic (9-7) goes to Agawam on Monday.
 
Drury (6-11) looks to continue a two-game winning streak on Saturday at Mount Greylock.
