Lee Softball Gets Walkoff Win Against Drury
LEE, Mass. -- Kamryn Renata singled to drive in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh as the Lee softball team edged Drury, 14-13, on Thursday.
The Wildcats led 12-3 going to the seventh, but Drury scored 10 times to take the lead. The big blow in the rally was a two-run triple by Shaley Lawson to get the Blue Devils within one.
Marley Brothers drove in Lawson to tie it, and Brothers ended up scoring on an error to give Drury a one-run lead.
In the bottom of the inning, Lee drew a pair of walks to put the tying and winning run aboard with one out. Peyton Heath singled up the middle to drive in the tying run.
Two batters later, Renata gave the Wildcats a walkoff win with an infield single.
Renata went 3-for-6, and Katelyn Clark drove in a pair of runs.
Clark also went the distance in the circle, allowing just three earned runs and striking out a pair.
Olivia Mazacco, Kylie Clay and Rachael Barrows each had a pair of hits for Drury, which got a double from Heaven Mazza.
The Blue Devils (5-2) are scheduled to play at Hoosac Valley on Friday.
Lee goes to Taconic on Tuesday.
