Rufo's Five Goals Lead Pittsfield Girls Lax to Victory

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Ashley Rufo scored four goals and set up two more Monday to lead the Pittsfield girls lacrosse team to a 20-7 win over Pope Francis.

 

Sierra Murray scored five times, and Sara Curry and Meredith Kestyn each scored a pair for the Generals.

 

“We played a solid game,” Pittsfield coach Jeff Murray said. “We moved the ball well today and made a lot positive plays at both ends of the field.”

 

Anna Quinto made 10 saves in the Pittsfield-Taconic goal before giving way to Danielle Plankey, who earned a save.

 

Pittsfield (6-9) goes to Mount Greylock on Wednesday.
