Pittsfield Seeking Girls Lax, Track Coaches

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield Public Schools are looking for three coaches for the upcoming spring high school season

 

Girls Lacrosse

The Pittsfield Public Schools is seeking applicants for the positions of head varsity coach and junior varsity coach for the Spring 2018 season.

 

The varsity and JV coaches must have a commitment to administering a program that emphasizes integrity and the educational and personal welfare of its student-athletes. The team is a co-op program, with a roster made up of female students from both Pittsfield High and Taconic.

 

Candidates will be responsible for managing, organizing, and administering all phases of the lacrosse program in accordance with MIAA regulations and Pittsfield Public School policies. 

 

Ability to teach fundamental lacrosse skills, playing rules, and game strategies is required. 

 

Candidates should have relevant background in the sport, excellent communications skills, and a philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the school. 

 

Experience as a head coach at the high school level is preferred, but not required. Season runs from mid-March to early June.

Girls Track and Field

Pittsfield High School is seeking applicants for the position of assistant girls track and field coach for Spring 2018 season.

 

The successful applicant for this paid position will have the ability to teach fundamental track and field techniques that challenge the physical, mental, and personal abilities of student-athletes.

 

Ideal candidate would have experience and ability to teach skills associated with the following specific events : long jump, triple jump, 4-by-100 relay and sprints.

 

Experience as coach at the high school level is preferred, but not required. Season runs from late March through early June. Application deadline is Feb. 1, 2018
