Sheedy, Salvie Lead PHS Girls Lax to First Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Clare Sheedy and Jacey Salvie each scored four goals Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield High girls lacrosse team to its first victory of the year, a 17-9 win over Chicopee.

 

Lauren Curry and Ashley Rufo each had a hat trick, and Ali Williamson scored a pair and set up two more.

 

“This was a breakout game,” PHS coach Jenna Giardina said. “Everyone played well together. I was very excited about our defensive effort.”

 

Kristen Borelli backstopped that defense with four saves.

 

Pittsfield (1-10) goes to Chicopee on Monday.
