Penalties Cost Mount Greylock Girls Lax Against Burr & Burton

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sadie Stefanak and Paige Samuelson each scored four goals Friday to lead Manchester, Vt.'s, Burr and Burton Academy to a 12-5 win over Mount Greylock in girls lacrosse.

 

Ainsley Abel scored a goal and set up three more, and Sarah Polumbo scored twice for the Mounties.

 

"Although the effort was there for our team and Abel and Polumbo put in gritty performances, we did not help ourselves today," Mount Greylock coach Jeff Stripp said. "We drew three yellow cards, and we had three goalie fouls that resulted in three empty net free position shots and three goals."

 

Mount Greylock (8-2) hosts Pope Francis on Tuesday.
