Wahconah Girls Can't Overcome Half-Time Deficit on Road
AGAWAM, Mass. – The Wahconah girls lacrosse team battled back in the second half after trailing, 8-2, at half-time but dropped a 13-8 decision to Agawam on Thursday.
Coach Kathy Budaj said she was happy with the effort her team showed in the season opener.
“We started off with some first game jitters in the first half,” Budaj said. “At halftime we made some defensive adjustments and settled into our game.”
Brooke Harrington, Danelle Hagmaier and Anna Doyle each scored a pair of goals in the loss.
Phalyn Renderer made 12 saves in Wahconah’s goal.
Wahconah (0-1) goes to West Springfield next Thursday.
