Westfield Girls Lax Tops Wahconah

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield girls lacrosse team Monday handed Wahconah a 16-7 defeat in the teams’ season opener.

 

Ava Massaro, Danielle Hagmaier and Olivia Roberts each scored a pair of goals for Wahconah, which got seven saves from Phalyn Renderer.

 

“Today we grew as a team with each passing quarter,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “We fought hard and played very well despite the score.”

 

Wahconah (0-1) hosts West Springfield on Friday.
