East Longmeadow Girls Lacrosse Edges Wahconah

DALTON, Mass. -- Wahconah girls lacrosse coach Kathy Budaj said there were plenty of positives to take from her team's 9-7 loss to East Longmeadow on Saturday evening.

 

"Today we played a fantastic defensive game," she said. "We have been working hard, and today was the best game we have played yet. Sydney did a fantastic job in goal.

 

"There are such things as a good loss and today was one of them."

 

Smith made 16 saves in the defeat.

 

Jillian Cote had a hat trick, and Olivia Hines scored twice as Wahconah (3-3) battled back from a 4-0 first-half deficit.

 

Wahconah's Monday game at Hoosac Valley has been postponed due to weather. Its next game is Tuesday at Pittsfield.
