County Girls Lacrosse Coaches Name All-Star Teams
After their teams split the regular season series, Mount Greylock’s Sarah Stripp and Wahconah’s Emmy Cote split the coaches’ ballots for the most valuable girls lacrosse player in Berkshire County.
Stripp, who scored 3.9 goals per game for the Mounties (16-4) shared the honor with Cote, who scored 3.8 goals per game for Wahconah (17-5).
Not surprisingly, their teams led the way on the all-county first team with four selections apiece.
Joining Cote, a junior, are senior Perin Genaway and sophomores Jordan Budaj and Brianna Kasala.
Joining Stripp, also a junior, are classmates Haley Reinhard and Julia Whitney and sophomore Emma Polumbo.
Hoosac Valley and Pittsfield each placed two players on the first team.
Hoosac junior Aubrey Rumbolt and sophomore Skylar Case are joined by Pittsfield seniors Lauren Curry and Jacey Salvie.
Whitney, who had a .509 save percentage, was named the first-team keeper ahead of Wahconah junior Katie Bachli, who stopped 53 percent of the shots that came her way.
Joining Bachli on the second team are two Wahconah teammates: senior Hannah Rueger and junior McKenna McIlquham.
Mount Greylock also placed three players on the second team: seniors Hope Willis and Maggie Rorke and sophomore Caroline Flynn.
Pittsfield freshman Clare Sheedy was chosen second team all-county, along with Hoosac freshmen Claudia Bresett and Alie Mendel and Lee’s Mikayla DeSantis, a sophomore, and Meryl Phair, a junior.
