Cote Leads Wahconah Girls Lax at Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Emmy Cote scored four goals and set up another as the Wahconah girls lacrosse team bounced back from Monday’s loss with a 12-3 win over Chicopee on Tuesday.

“We played a much better second half,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “The first half we kept forcing passes which led to turnovers. The second half we were much more composed.

“McKenna McIlquham fired the team up with her relentless defense causing them to turn the ball over.”

Lily Howes had a hat trick, and Hannah Rueger had two goals and an assist for Wahconah, which got nine saves from Katie Bachli.

Wahconah (3-1) hosts Brattleboro on Thursday.
