AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst-Pelham girls lacrosse team scored in the second overtime Friday to earn a 15-14 win and spoil a comeback bid by Hoosac Valley.

Jacinta Felix scored eight goals, and Ashlyn Lesure scored four four for the Hurricanes, who rallied in the second half to force OT.

“We came out behind pretty quickly and called a timeout to reset,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said. “I am so proud of the way we responded to being behind. The last 14 minutes, we outscored them 8-1 to come and tie to bring us to OT. We had some good looks at a shot to win it, but it just wasn't in our favor today.”

Emma Meczywor scored a goal and set up four more, and Reagan Shea found the back of the net once for the Hurricanes.

Cami Lavato and Kennedy Whitley split time in Hoosac Valley’s goal, combining to make 12 saves.

“Kudos to Jacinta Felix for finding the corners in the net; she really came on strong,” West said. “Our defense led by Abby Percy, Emma Akroman, Maryn Cappiello and Niah Borowski really stepped up in so many ways. While we took the loss, this energy is exactly what we need going into tournament time.”

Hoosac Valley (8-4) hosts Granby on Monday.
