Meczywor Leads Hoosac Valley Past Chicopee Comp

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Emma Meczywor scored eight goals Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to a 16-8 win over Chicopee Comp.

 

Meczywor also set up three goals in the win.

 

Ashlyn Lesure and Jaceinta Felix each had a hat trick, and Reagan Shea and Layla Brooks scored two goals apiece.

 

“We were tremendous on the draws/circle today,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said. “Emma, Ashlyn and Jacinta continue to control that area and move the ball into our offensive zone. It was a much better showing offensively and we implemented several plays that were effective. Maryn Cappiello stood out defensively.”

 

Kennedy Whitley and Cami Lovato split time in goal for the Hurricanes, combining to make six saves.

 

Hoosac Valley (5-2) hosts Pope Francis on Tuesday.
