Charon Leads Hoosac Valley in Opening Win

MONSON, Mass. – Karyssa Charon scored six goals Monday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to an 18-6 win over Monson in the Hurricane’s season-opener.

 

“We are excited to have picked up our first win,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “We were a little rusty in areas but used the experience of Karyssa Charon, Ashlyn Lesure and Emma Meczywor to keep possession and gain momentum. New keeper Kennedy Whitley showed a great deal of promise in net.”

 

Whitley stopped eight shots to earn the win between the pipes.

 

Meczywor and Lesure each had a hat trick. Sam Loholdt finished with two goals and two assists.

 

Hoosac Valley Friday goes to Amherst.
