DiGennaro Leads Hoosac Girls Lax over Pittsfield
CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Brooke DiGennaro scored six goals and set up two more to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to a 17-9 win over Pittsfield on Tuesday.
Alie Mendel scored five, and Faith Hall and Lauren Davis each scored a pair in the win.
“It showed that we haven't played in over a week as we were very sloppy in the first half and it took some time to get the ball moving,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “We were much more patient in the second half, taking better shots and slowing down offensively. Faith Hall did a great job on the ground and on the circle.”
Emily Godfrey earned the win in net with seven goals.
Pittsfield got three goals apiece from Sierra Murray and Ella Korte.
Danielle Plankey and Madison Manning combined to make 14 saves for the Generals (5-12).
Hoosac Valley (14-1) hosts Springfield Central on Thursday.
