Hoosac Valley Girls Lacrosse Qualifies for Sectional Tourney

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Claudia Breset scored four goals Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to a 14-0 win over St. Mary’s of Westfield as the Hurricanes qualified for the Central/Western Massachusetts tournament.

 

“Meeting our first goal of the season this early in the season is exciting for the team and program as a whole,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “We're doing a better job of finding the net, and Skylar Case continues to be a standout on defense.”

 

Brooke DiGennaro had a hat trick, and Alie Mendel scored twice while setting up three more goals. Sara Tomkiewicz scored a pair, and Abi Disbrow stopped the two shots that came her way in goal.

 

Hoosac Valley (8-2) goes to Pittsfield on Monday.
