Lee Girls Open Season with Win at Central

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Lee girls lacrosse team won its season-opener, 12-0, at Springfield Central on Friday night.

 

Under tough conditions, the Wildcats fought and won the majority of draw controls and ground balls.

 

Early goals by Phoenix Lucido and Kelly Nicotra got Lee off to a good start. Ball control and heavy pressure in the midfield by Tessa Baldwin, Naima Clark, Netti Boyko and Libby Ballinger halted any forward progress in Central's transition, Lee coach Sarah Schaeffer said.

 

Goals by Ballinger and Boyko solidified the win in the second half.

 

Lee (1-0) travels to face Pittsfield at BCC on Friday.
