Lampron Leads Wahconah Boys Lax at Chicopee Comp
CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Ernie Lampron scored five goals, and the Wahconah boys lacrosse team Friday came back from a 5-0 deficit to defeat Chicopee Comp, 11-10.
“We scored our first goal at 8:08 of the second quarter on a feed from Matt Mathers to Billy O’Neill,” Wahconah coach Joe O’Neill said. “We then went on an 8-1 run in the third quarter.”
That run gave Wahconah the lead, but the Colts rallied to tie it with 3 minutes, 37 seconds left.
“We then went man up with 1:31 left in the game on a trip call,” O’Neill said. “Luca Burgess got the go-ahead goal with 1:11 left in the game. We then finished the game on defense.”
Dom Orlandi backstopped the Wahconah defense with six saves to earn the win between the pipes.
Mathers finished with four assists, and Dayton Kozlowski had two goals and two assists. Tim Clayton scored a goal and set up three more.
