Jaggi Scores Six as Wahconah Boys Win Opener
CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Dart Jaggi scored six goals, and Dom Orlandi made six saves to lead the Wahconah boys lacrosse team to a 12-0, season-opening win over Chicopee on Wednesday.
“Really impressive goalie play today by both teams,” Wahconah coach Zach Sondrini said. “[Trent Lahair] on Chicopee played on his head and kept this from being a much higher margin. We was also excellent in the clearing game.
“We were impressive at the clearing and face off game. Dayton [Kozlowski] and Conner Noyes dominated on the faceoffs, going 15-for-16 combined.”
Kozlowski also had three assists for Wahconah (1-0), which got three goals and three assists from Matt Mathers.
“Our long poles played really well,” Sondrini said. “Mike Fortin, Corey Bazonski, Matt Fortin and Hunter Labrode (long stick middie) led out defense and forced low probability shots.”
Wahconah travels to face Mount Greylock on Wednesday.
