Wahconah's Lampron, Hoosac Valley's Leja Recognized by County Lacrosse Officials
The Berkshire County Lacrosse Officials Association recently recognized two high school boys lacrosse players with the association's Defensive Player of the Year and Sportsmanship Award.
Hoosac Valley's Logan Leja earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Leja led the Hurricanes to a 6-2 record this spring.
He is a four-year starter and always could be counted on to mark the opposition's top scorer, usually holding his man below his season average for goals.
Leja will be attending Vermont's Castleton University in the fall.
Wahconah's Ernie Lampron IV was honored with the county Sportsmanship Award after helping his team go 11-1 with a Central/Western Massachusetts Championship and a berth in the state semi-finals.
Lampron totaled 114 points over two years to lead Berkshire County as Wahconah won back-to-back county titles in 2019 and 2021.
A member of the school's National Honor Society, Lampron plans to major in engineering at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
