Berkshire County Lacrosse Officials Recognize Mendel

The Berkshire County Lacrosse Officials Association recently recognized Hoosac Valley senior captain Austin Mendel as the league's Defensive Player of the Year.

 

Mendel helped anchor a Hurricanes defense that held opponents to five goals or fewer in seven games.

 

He also scored seven goals this spring.

 

The Hurricanes went 10-6, including an appearance in the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.

 

Mendel received his award from BCLOA President Joe Maruco.

 

Mendel plans to study electrical engineering and play lacrosse at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y.
