NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Evan Rose scored five goals, and Max Morin had five assists Friday as the McCann Tech boys lacrosse team beat Springfield Central, 12-3, to secure a berth in the state tournament.
Brody Rhinemiller stopped six shots in goal as McCann Tech won its third straight.
Parker Hart and Colby Marko each scored twice, and six different Hornets scored as McCann Tech improved to 9-7, guaranteeing itself a .500 regular season record.
“We are excited to qualify for the state playoffs,” McCann Tech coach Marshall Maxwell said. “This is the first time all season that we have a complete roster and it shows in our more consistent play. We are going to give everything that we have at Lenox on Thursday night and we are excited for a playoff atmosphere.”
The PVIAC is yet to announce the seeds for the four-team Western Massachusetts tournaments, but the most recent power rankings have Lenox ranked first and McCann Tech fourth in Class C.
