Unbeaten Pittsfield Hands Mount Everett First Loss

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Jack Abel went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs Thursday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 10-1 win over Mount Everett in a battle of unbeatens.
 
Jack Reed and Jackson Almeida had two hits apiece, and Matthew Egan doubled in an 11-hit attack for the Generals.
 
Matthew Burega and Cam Hillard split time on the mound, striking out 12 and walking three.
 
“Nice road win for the Generals,” Pittsfield coach Drew Pearce said. “Matt Burega was dominant on the mound, and Jack Reed and Jack Abel led from the top of our offense.”
 
Brodie Kinna went 2-for-4 with a double for Mount Everett.
 
He also threw two innings from the mound. Sean Warren, Trevor Leonard and Jacob Kreis also pitched for the Eagles (3-1), who go to Monument Mountain on Tuesday.
 
Pittsfield (4-0) is at Minnechaug on Monday.
